July is International Zine Month! Celebrate the wonderful world of independent publishing with daily activities. Download a higher res of this year’s flyer of daily prompts here!

Free!Join Zine Club Chicago for an in-person outdoor hangout for adults who love zines!
We had such a blast at Zine Camp last year that we’re bringing it back and packing in even more summer fun. Newbies and Zine Club Chicago regulars alike are welcome at Zine Camp 2023, set for 2 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 9 in Picnic Grove 5 at Dan Ryan Woods on Chicago’s Southwest Side. Free!
Camp activities include zinemaking, zine trading, and socializing with fellow self-publishing enthusiasts; a crowd-sourced, collaborative, zine-focused Complaint Chorus by Ayun Halliday: a Zinemaking Workshop by Jude R. Bettridge; and SO. MANY. SNACKS!
We’ll also be hosting a pen pal station so you can strike up a correspondence with one of our out-of-town Zine Club Chicago friends! (Can’t make it to Zine Camp and want a pen pal? Sign up here: tiny.cc/ZineCamp2023PenPals)
Feel free to drop in anytime between 2-6:30 p.m. and stay for as long as you like. Dan Ryan Woods is a Cook County Forest Preserve; our campsite at Picnic Grove 5 will be located off Western Avenue near 84th St.

Zine Club Chicago ONLINE: People Have the Power Edition, Tues, July 28th, 7pm
For folks who want to help transform our world into a better place for everyone, zines are a dynamic tool for sharing information, resources, and inspiration. This month at Zine Club Chicago Online: People Have the Power Edition, we’ll be discussing self-published works focused on the many ways we can all support radical change in the name of justice, equality, and peace. July is International Zine Month, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate it than by focusing on this important topic. The suggested activity for #IZM2020 July 28th is about using social media to get the word out about your favorite zines, so grab your favorite titles, BYOS(nacks), and join us on Zoom for a great conversation!
** Zoom info ** We want to make sure that our online Zine Club events are a safe space, so we won’t be releasing the Zoom link and password publicly. If you’d like to attend, please email zineclubchicago@gmail.com to RSVP by 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 28. We’ll email you the Zoom link and password one hour before the event begins.
Zine newbies and longtime enthusiasts alike are always welcome at Zine Club Chicago, the city’s only book club-style event for people who read zines. This free monthly series is produced by Chicago Zine Fest/Midwest Perzine Fest organizer Cynthia Hanifin and hosted by Quimby’s Bookstore. As always, Anna Jo Beck made this month’s lovely flyer.

July is International Zine Month! CHIPRC’s Zine Club is commemorating this global celebration of self-publishing with an exploration of zines from other countries. Bring your favorite titles from outside the United States and join us for a fun discussion and snacks at Chicago’s only book club-style event for people who read zines. Zine newbies and longtime enthusiasts alike are welcome!

Then we’ll match up folks with the description that appeals most to them. Think of it as speed dating – but for zines and readers. 🙂
