Afterparty: A Novella by Anne Elizabeth Moore (Sonnenzimmer) $15.00 – In the not-too-distant future, a full third of the US population will have autoimmune disorders—horrible, vindictive diseases that needlessly attack separate systems of the body and cause pain, disfiguration, and eventually death for many sufferers. They also presage a genetic mutation, however, that allows a segment of the world’s current inhabitants to survive the Überflu of 2017, a rapidly mutating virus now at work overcoming eradication by your soaps and detergents, antibiotics, and high-end medicines. Science calls it the bacterial apocalypse, and when the world as we know it comes to an end, only the sick will survive in a deeply flawed utopia.
